Antique 1920 Red and White Irish Chain Quilt
DESCRIPTION: Here is a stunning red and white quilt from the 1920′s. The Irish chain pattern has always been a favorite and this one does not disappoint. The quilt has more than 2000 1″ red squares that are hand pieced together. It is hand quilted with flowers, small feathering leaves along the border and outline quilting. There are 8-9 small, consistent stitches to the inch and the red binding is hand applied. The back is white and the batting is thin. 100% Cotton
CONDITION: It is in good clean condition. The quilt has some brown or yellowing spots, all are small and they are sporadic. The most notable spots are on the white flower block. (Please see photo). There are a couple places where the red has lightly transferred to the white, it is not a fade but as the red has rubbed off. (Please see photos).
