Antique 1918 Signature and Date Redworks Quilt

PRICE:  $695.00 DESCRIPTION:  Here is a great example of exquisite hand embroidery. The stitches connect beautifully and are straight and curved at just the right places. The large 16″ blocks display lovely flowers, animals, baskets,  sweet children and clever sayings. The signature block has the initials HCR and is dated 1918. It is hand quilted with twisted rope quilting along the border and diamond grid quilting in the interior. There are 9 even stitches to the inch. The knife edge binding is machine stitched and the quilt is thin. 100% cotton. CONDITION: It is in good condition. Strong & Sturdy. Antique 1890 Redworks with Ornate Border Quilt

PRICE:  $695.00 DESCRIPTION: This 1890′s Reworks quilt has a lovely border. Nicely hand embroidered with flowers, leaves and vines, an original design from the quilt maker. The images on the quilt are animals, fruit and probably scenes from nursery rhymes. It is hand quilted with diamond grid quilting. The stitches are precise, 9 stitches to the inch.  The machine stitched binding is rolled over from the back and stitched with red thread which really gives the quilt appeal. The batting is thin. 100% cotton. CONDITION:  It is in very good condition. Strong, Sturdy and Clean. Antique 1810 Indigo & White Bars Quilt

PRICE:  $995.00 Description: This more than 200 year old quilt is in remarkably good condition. The indigo fabric is a lovely  seed pattern and the white fabric has flowing vines. It is hand pieced and quilted with diagonal line quilting.  The stitches are small and consistent, 8 – 9 stitches to the inch.  The hand stitched binding is rolled over from the front and the batting is thin. The initials SPB are embroidered on the back. 100% cotton. Condition: It is in good condition. The front and back of the quilt has occasional brown spots and stains. There are three small repairs to the quilt that were very well done and 2 areas on the quilt with holes. (Please see photos). Antique 1880 Lancaster Wool  Log Cabin Courthouse Steps Quilt

PRICE:  $12.00  per yard Description: The Log Cabin pattern became popular in the 1860′s, during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. It celebrates his humble birth in an Illinois log cabin. This Courthouse Steps quilt does no disappoint.  Each block has a prominent red center which makes the red binding stand out. It is hand pieced. Log Cabin quilts are basically made of squares and are seldom quilted. The design is held in place by the “logs” being stitched down on top of one another. The red applied binding is machine stitched. Wool  Condition: It is in good condition. The red binding suffers from loss of fabric with holes and bites out of it. There are approximately 10 pea size holes in the quilt. The holes goes straight through to the back except the holes in the corner block on the very last photo.
